Camera kit guide

Telephoto starter camera kits

Start with the longest view you need, then count the additional lens weight. A telephoto frames distant detail; it does not by itself establish sports or wildlife performance.

Bring distant details closer

Compare published equivalent ranges, lens stabilization availability and carry weight. Keep your standard zoom for wider scenes rather than expecting a long telephoto to replace it.
