What a native match tells you
A match requires the exact camera and lens models, sourced matching mounts, APS-C coverage and an explicit relation in the catalog. Check an exact camera and lens with those rules. We check 32 native combinations. A shared mount does not prove all autofocus, correction, firmware or combined stabilization behavior. Adapted combinations are outside the checked catalog.
Why a lens appears for a job
Everyday travel uses a standard zoom; portraits and family uses the selected bright prime; interiors uses a wide zoom; distant details uses a telephoto. Within the native choices, focal range, maximum aperture where relevant, published weight and filter reuse describe the consequence. Commission and merchant status never change the choices. Four primes have four different views, so “portrait” is not an optical ranking.
Equivalent focal length
Equivalent focal length compares framing with a 35 mm-format camera. It does not change the lens’s actual focal length or aperture. Canon RF50 on these APS-C bodies is calculated as 50 × 1.6 = 80 mm equivalent. Nikon DX figures marked calculated use 1.5×; other displayed figures follow the manufacturer’s rounding.
Filter threads and step-up rings
Equal diameters give direct thread fit. A smaller lens thread may connect to a larger filter through a correctly sized step-up ring. This is a mechanical path only: the original cap/hood may stop fitting, and stacked rings may cause vignetting, particularly with wide lenses. A smaller filter is not recommended through a step-down ring. Check your filter sizes.
What the weight total includes
The body figure includes the manufacturer’s stated ready configuration, normally battery and card. This is a weighing basis, not a retail inclusion claim. The lens figure follows its own basis. Add caps, hood, filter, strap, spare battery, bag and other accessories explicitly. Blank weights stay incomplete; a body-and-lens subtotal is never called a complete carry kit. Ounces convert at 28.349523125 grams each. Add your measured weights.
Dates and updates
Specifications were observed on 7 September 2026. Stable dimensions, weight, mount, coverage, battery and card fields expire for current tool use after 90 days. Bundle, hood-inclusion and lifecycle observations need review after 30 days. Invalid or future dates cannot support current results. Pages retain dated historical specifications, but the tools stop using expired fields even when a tab stays open. Your measurements remain usable for weight arithmetic.
Boundaries that change a decision
Canon’s US standalone RF-S18-45 listing is discontinued. The lens remains useful for owners and as an identified camera-kit component. No current retail box contents are inferred from a product name, weight basis or general catalog listing. Unavailable feature evidence stays unresolved rather than becoming a negative claim.

Exact-pair feature evidence and included power parts expire after 30 days; stable body specifications remain on the 90-day schedule.
