Where your kit stays, what measurement runs, and your rights.
Kit inputs
Current choices and measurements use browser session storage to move between tools. Start or reopen those choices in the camera kit builder. “Save on this device” uses local storage only when you choose it. Clear a saved kit using the delete control or your browser’s site-data settings. No account or server-side kit record is created.
Sharing and exports
A shared link includes only catalog camera/lens identifiers, the photo job and weight unit. Your accessory weights, purchase cost and owned-part choices are excluded. A downloaded kit file can include those private inputs; it stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
Measurement
We use two services to see which pages and tools people use: Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, European Union) and Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, United States). They receive the page address without its query string or fragment, plus a small set of named actions such as running a calculation, reaching an answer, sorting a table or following a link to a retailer.
Google Analytics runs with analytics storage, advertising storage, ad-user-data and ad-personalisation all denied before any Google code loads, so it makes cookie-free measurement requests and sets no advertising identifier. Plausible measures without cookies and without any identifier that follows you between sites. Both receive technical connection information including your IP address. Your kit choices, measured weights and entered costs are never included.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and neither measurement service sets one here. The kit builder uses this tab’s session storage to carry choices between tools, and local storage only when you choose Save on this device. Both stay on your device; clearing this site’s data removes them.
Who else receives data
Google LLC for page and action measurement (policies.google.com/privacy). Plausible Insights OÜ for cookie-free measurement, hosted in the European Union. Amazon.com Services LLC, when your browser loads a product photograph from Amazon’s image service or you follow a link to a listing: Amazon receives the connection information needed to serve it and applies its own privacy notice once you arrive. If a display advertising network is ever added here, this page will name it before the first advertisement is served.
If you are in the EEA or the UK
Measurement runs on the legitimate interest of understanding which pages and tools are used, with advertising and personalisation consent denied by default and no cross-site identifier. We do not sell or share personal information and run no profiling or automated decision-making. You can ask what we hold, ask for correction or deletion, or object to measurement, through the contact page; because we hold no account or identifier for you, a request usually has to be matched to a specific page and time. Google retains measurement data for 14 months; Plausible keeps aggregates without an expiry.
External links
Opening a manufacturer link visits a different site with its own privacy policy, and those links carry no tracking parameters. Amazon links carry our affiliate tracking id so a sale can be attributed to this site; they carry nothing about you, your kit or your measurements.
