Adapters for Fujifilm X
Adapting other lenses to Fujifilm X
Fujifilm makes no autofocus adapter for the X mount, so adapted lenses are a choice for manual focus. Here is what you keep, what you give up and the camera settings that help.
Manual adapters
Simple adapters from makers other than Fujifilm fit older lenses (M42, Nikon F, Canon FD, Leica M and others) to X cameras. They have no electronics: you focus by hand and set the aperture on the lens's own ring. The camera meters through the lens in aperture priority.
Camera settings that help
- Shoot without lens must be on, or the shutter will not fire without an electronic lens.
- Mount adaptor setting lets you enter the focal length, so the in-body stabilisation of the X-T5, X-S20, X-H2 and others steadies the adapted lens correctly, and the file records it.
- Focus peaking and focus magnification make manual focus quick.
Autofocus adapters
Third-party adapters with electronics exist for Canon EF lenses (Fringer and Viltrox make them). Fujifilm does not support them, and how well a lens works depends on the adapter's firmware. For autofocus, the lenses made for X mount are the safe route; there are 68 of them in our catalogue.
Framing
Any adapted lens frames 1.5 times tighter than its focal length on these cameras: a 50 mm frames like 75 mm.

Questions
Does Fujifilm make a lens adapter?
No. Fujifilm makes no adapter from another mount to X. Adapters are made by other companies, and most are manual.
Will the X-T5's stabilisation work with an adapted lens?
Yes, once you enter the lens's focal length under Mount adaptor setting.
