What the numbers tell you

An all-in-one zoom trades a little brightness and size for never changing lenses: no dust on the sensor, no missed moment. The wider the range, the larger and heavier the lens; 18-135 and 18-150 zooms sit in the middle, 16-300 and 18-300 zooms reach further at about 600 g. If you mostly photograph in daylight, the range matters more than the aperture.
