Lenses for vlogging and video on APS-C cameras

At arm's length a lens needs to frame like 24 mm or wider to show you and some of where you are. Here is every lens that does on each system, under 400 g so it stays comfortable to hold out.

The rule: lenses starting at 24 mm equivalent or wider, under 400 g; sorted widest, then lightest.

What the numbers tell you

Held at arm's length, about 50 cm away, a 24 mm-equivalent view frames your head and shoulders with a little background; 16 to 18 mm shows the place you are in. Electronic stabilisation, used by many cameras for video, crops the frame further, so start wider than you think. Power zooms (PZ) zoom smoothly while recording. A camera's page lists its microphone and headphone sockets and its 4K crop.
